Airport-Pulling Road accident seriously injures two
Two people were seriously injured in a three-car accident Friday evening on the northbound lanes of Airport-Pulling Road in North Naples. The lanes were temporarily shut down near the intersection of Winding Oaks Way, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. According to an FHP report, Glennerose Willoughby, 79, failed to slow down while heading northbound on Airport-Pulling. As a result, his 2003 Toyota SUV rear-ended two cars stopped at a red light at Winding Oaks Way. The SUV overturned onto its left side, and North Naples Fire Department officials said they had to extradite the two from the vehicle. Glennerose Willoughby was transported with serious injuries to Lee Memorial Hospital, while his passenger, Sandra Willoughby, 58, was taken to North Collier Hospital with serious injuries.
Bryn Mawr residents warned of break-ins
Lock your doors. Turn lights on. Report suspicious activity. That's the advice Minneapolis police are giving residents of the Bryn Mawr neighborhood where burglars struck three times last week. A fourth burglary was reported in January. The burglaries have taken place in the northern portion of the neighborhood on Penn, Oliver and Chestnut avenues. Two of the burglaries took place between midnight and 4 a.m. and two in broad daylight, police said. Police said most burglars are caught because somebody saw something suspicious and called 911. Police said suspicious activity includes unrecognized cars cruising slowly down an alley or street, individuals going door to door or peering into people's yards or windows. The crime alert for Bryn Mawr comes just days after police warned residents in six south Minneapolis neighborhoods about burglars who are forcing their way into apartment buildings, rental units and garages.
